Chinese tech giant Tencent launches ‘ VooV Meeting ‘

The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has led to the rise of various remote conferencing apps like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, etc. The exciting thing to this is the number of downloads of the various video conferencing app provider has hit a record of 62 million in just 7 days between 14 to 21 April according to App Annie report.

Tencent is the latest company to join with its new product called VooV Meeting. It is an alternative to Tencent meeting but can be used internationally rather than only in China. VooV meeting is a cloud-based HD conferencing platform mainly used for businesses. The platform is available for iOS, Android, Windows users and can also be assessed through any browser. The app was launched a month ago on Google Play Store and has crossed 100,000 downloads.

VooV meeting is free for up to 300 members. It allows the user to schedule or attend meetings and also has a screen share feature. VooV also has instant text messaging, and live discussion features that allow users to connect with the host or the other users without disturbing the meeting. It also has features like noise reduction, beauty filters, background blurring, many more. VooV also has WeChat plugin which allows users to share and access link to join meeting without downloading the app.

VooV meeting offers the users to record the meeting conducted and is automatically saved in a cloud space after encryption.  The app is available in more than 100 countries including Malaysia, Singapore, India, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, and Macao. Other than VooV meeting, apps like JioMeet along with local startups such as AirMeet, Bharat. live, Say Namaste, Webkonf Meeting, among others, are also making it to the headlines.
