A Bengaluru-based startup has been using its AI tool on smartphones to continue detecting possible cases of oral cancer

Mouth Cancer is one of the three most common types of cancers in India. Nearly one million people die of oral cancer in India every year.

Atom360 believes that health care should be everyone’s right. It should be a necessity, not a privilege. With the help of AI and Machine learning technology, BerryCare has built an app to Diagnose Early Mouth Cancer. Atom360 collaboration with AIIMS, Delhi and Bhubaneswar,KIDWAI, apart from other hospitals, helps them decipher the data collected,  as per co-founder Rizma Banu. Oral cancer is very high in rural areas due to tobacco consumption. The app is built in a way to makes it easy to use even in rural areas. “Anyone can use the app to take 10 images of their mouth from different angles. Using AI, we work with oncologists to study the unusual lesions, and suggest whether the person needs further health investigations like a biopsy,” said Rizma.

The early death (due to Cancer) of dear friends of Berry. care founders Ms. Rizma Banu and Mr. Reuben inspired them to find a solution to this undetected cancer at an early stage.
